BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections and Dermal Fillers in Leesburg

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX Cosmetic improves the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. BOTOX is a prescription medicine that is injected, by a healthcare professional, into the muscles between the brows, which reduces muscle activity by blocking nerve impulses, thus eliminating frown lines caused by the treated muscles.

BOTOX Cosmetic was first introduced in 2002, shortly after it was approved by the FDA to treat moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crows feet around the eyes. A non-surgical option with no recovery time, millions of women have chosen BOTOX to remove wrinkles and lines and give their face a more youthful appearance.

BOTOX has also been used to treat severe underarm sweating, blepharospasm and strabismus. BOTOX can treat muscle stiffness in elbow, wrist and finger muscles suffering from spasticity, abnormal head position and neck pain resulting from cervical dystonia, eye problems or abnormal spasms of the eyelids.

Symptoms and Side Effects

BOTOX Cosmetic can cause serious and life threatening side effects, such as difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing. There is also the threat of developing botulism if the botulinum toxin affects areas of the body away from the injection site. Common symptoms of botulism include loss of strength all over body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, dysarthria, loss of bladder control, trouble breathing and swallowing. Symptoms and Side Effects of BOTOX can happen hours to weeks after an injection.

Other side effects of BOTOX Cosmetic include:
dry mouth
discomfort / pain at the injection site
tiredness
headache
neck pain
eye problems
allergic reactions

Why does skin age?

The vertical lines that appear between your brows are a result of muscle contractions occurring over your lifetime. When you frown, squint or even concentrate, the skin between your brows forrows and folds as a result of those muscle contractions. After many years of this, permanent wrinkles begin to develop and folds exist even when the muscles are at rest. Loudoun BOTOX clients often choose to travel to beautiful Winchester VA for treatment.

Restylane / Perlane / Juvederm / Juvederm Ultra Plus

These dermal fillers are made up on a hyaluronic acid, which is a non-animal-based, natural susbstance similar to one that already exists in our bodies. This gel is injected into the skin in very small amounts with a very fine needle, producing immediate volume that smoothes wrinkles and folds, shapes facial contours and enhances the lips.

The result is a long-lasting, natural enhancement that is gentle and safe for the skin, leaves no scars, and lasts about 6-8 months.

Radiesse

FDA-approved Radiesse is a dermal filler that is made up of smooth microspheres called calcium hydroxy appetite, a substance normally found in the body. Radiesse provides a simple, natural alternative to invasive treatments that address the common signs of aging and some more serious health issues. It offers superior versatility for cosmetic and reconstructive use without the risks and costs associated with surgery, and lasts about 12-14 months.

ArteFill

ArteFill is a gel dermal filler made up of synthetic microspheres (polymethylmethacrylate or PMMA) suspended in purified bovine collagen, and contains lidocaine (local anesthetic) to reduce discomfort during injection.

ArteFill is used to add permanent support structure and smoothen the treated area. After a skin test is done, ArteFill is injected directly beneath the wrinkle to be treated. The synthetic PMMA microspheres are "non-resorbable", meaning they are not absorbed by the body or metabolized, allowing the treatment to last significantly longer than other injectable fillers - about 5-7 years on average.
